Phone number quirk

I've discovered that if you import phone numbers with extentions in the format (999)999-9999 ext. 999, SaleLogix (at least 6.2) displays the "ext" as 398. SLX is apparently converting letters into numbers corresponding to the numbers on the phone keypad, as in (800) FLOWERS to (800) 356-9377. I have found that if you change the ext. to just x, SLX will display the x.
My ways to correct this are either to make my access phone number parsing formula even more complex, or to run a Replace SQL statement to change ext. to x, which I'm sure won't work in the Execute SQL utility and won't sync to remotes if you run it in query analyzer.
Grrrr. |

| It's awlays done this - the only thing it recognises for extension is an X (for extension). |
