fiogf49gjkf0d From the Everything That Can Be Invented Has Already Been Invented department -
"If you're looking for the next big thing, stop looking. There's no such thing as the next big thing," he added.
So says Nicholas Donofrio, Executive Vice President of Innovation and Technology at IBM. His opinion is that the only "big things" left to be discovered are process and business model related. I read this article with disbelief yesterday. I think he needs a new title. Any ideas? Here's the link -

fiogf49gjkf0d Nah. The tech economy like many others goes in cycles. It's going through consolidation at the moment - getting more out of existing technologies through collaboration and effective use of what's already been developed. At some stage in the future that will turn around and smaller players with newer ideas will come through more.
It's all generalisation though. Long live the exceptions! |

Don't forget that Bill Gates is quoted [without source] as saying: "640K ought to be enough for anybody," and "No one will need more than 637 kb of memory for a personal computer." |
