What updates the SYSTEMINFO table?

fiogf49gjkf0d Hi all,
does anyone know whay a value in this table would keep changing? The PRIMARYSERVER field. I set it manually to a value and then sometime later something is changing it back to a NULL value.
I don't think its the SalesLogix Administration client as no one has been in that and the value has been changed.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. |

fiogf49gjkf0d The provider and syncserver may go after this table.
If any saleslogix client component is touching the table it should write a workgroup log. You can attach a .BAT file to the syncserver that will make a copy of the wglogs before each synccycle. You can then use the transviewer to files. |

fiogf49gjkf0d Well that excludes the SyncServer and simplefies things.
My first guess would be the Admin but you excluded that. So its the Provide or some client component.
Questions: What version of SLX and what HotFixes are you running? Do you have any custom EXEs that access SLX throught the provider? Do you run the WebServer? |

If you are on 6.x than what is (probably) happening is that "someone" in your organization has "SalesLogix Server" (Connection Manager) on their pc and is using it to make the "connection" to the db an NOT using DataLink (the "client" part in the SalesLogix Client Apps.
How do you find that person/system?... well.. if it's you then you have found him... Otherwise it can be tough....
We do have a solid solution to prevent this. Id's prefer not to post it since I've not created any documentation on it and just don't have the time to do so. However, contact me and I'll give it to you. +1.508.809.9513 -- rjl |

fiogf49gjkf0d Thanks for the responses.
I have found the culprit! It was a 3rd party app developed by our previous reseller to update info into our accounting system. It was clearing the value for some reason to do with sync server logs.
Luckily we had purchased the code off them and I found it in there.
Thanks again but the mystery has been solved. |

fiogf49gjkf0d Sometimes it's the simple things.. However, it's still a good idea to setup a "lockdown" trigger to make sure nothing touches that table/record (except for updates/service packs -- rjl |
