My client is syncing via HTTPS connections & is getting some sporadic errors. Also, Sync Server is shutting down "every couple of days" and needs to be restarted.

Recently, they saw an error appears against the SLX Sync monitor console 'Current Status' service:

Error reading file
[DOS file path]nnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.log I/O error 103

Any ideas what this error might mean?

Thanks
Phil

Wow - DOS error? Didn't those errors start going away before the internet became popular? I bet you'll have a hard time finding websites that address that...

But in seeing that it's a DOS error - I'm wondering if a name somewhere in the filepath is just too long - longer than 8 characters. I'm guessing it's a filename and not a path name because file names are the only things that are dynamic enough to only cause errors on a sporadic basis.

I hope that was remotely helpful - I have never seen the error before but you're always so helpful so I wanted to say something.

I would also make sure that your antivirus is not scannign any folders used by SLX. We had our syncs freeze every couple days until we excluded it's directories from Antivirus scan.

Unsuccessful - there may be more than one problem going on here, but the first one I'd like to resolve is the HTTPS one - where the sync server tries to connect to the HTTPS server and seems to hang. No error messages that I can find, just hangs and has to be restarted.

Does anyone have any troubleshooting tips for syncing over HTTPS?

Cheers
Phil
